Youth Track with Beth Mead

Camp Bluegrass is a one-week residential picking camp for bluegrass musicians. It is held each July at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas located 30 miles West of Lubbock. Campers stay in dorms on campus or in conveniently located RV sites. Motels are also available in town. Food service is provided in the SPC cafeteria.

Our speciality is quality teaching and small classes in state of the art facilities. The faculty includes some of the best instructors anywhere. Several SPC teachers are on the staff. Classes are held in the Commercial Music building with nightly faculty concerts in the Tom T. Hall Production Studio.

Over half of our students return every year. Come join the family.

Special youth track available. Camp favorite Beth Mead will be working with young players to form ensembles. Young students will attend regular classes* (with parental supervision) during the day and a special band class with Beth each afternoon Monday-Thursday. The youth ensemble will perform on the Friday morning student concert.
* Students under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Students under 16 should be mature and able to attend adult classes without supervision. Exceptions to the above may be made on a case by case basis.
